MCNARY GOLF COURSE is a semi-private, 18-hole championship course built in 1962. McNary Mens Golf Club was formed shortly thereafter. It is sanctioned by the Oregon Golf Association (OGA) and consists of golfers from the area.
MMGC is very active and offers members the opportunity to compete in "Ball in the Hat" events EVERY DAY (unless a tournament is going on). Other larger sweep pay-out tournaments are conducted under a variety of formats. In addition, opportunities are offered to compete in tournaments organized by the OGA and Western Oregon Seniors.
Our goal here at MMGC is to accommodate. Bring your clubs and whatever game you have and LET’S PLAY GOLF! If you have an established GHIN handicap then step right in. If not, we will help you get one going. We play year-round and in most conditions. The only thing that stops us is below freezing weather or flooding. Our greens crew does a great job of keeping the course in general and especially the greens in shape year round.
Golf is a lot of walking, broken up by disappointment and bad arithmetic. ~Author Unknown

Helpful Hints and How To's on Game Scoring
Many new Mens Club Members (and some of the older ones as well) are often intimidated by the many "Team" games and various scoring methods used for Ball In The Hat and other tournaments. See the Side bar for some of the more common formats.
Date Change for the Net Championship
The OGA had traditionally held the Oregon Net Championship in May, this required us to hold the qualifier in April, which due to course conditions, winter rules, and weather usually sucked. This year they got smart and moved the date to September. Yea! So now we can hold our two day qualifier on July 20-21
Greens Rolling Equipment will Benefit All Golfers at McNary from now on
The Great Greens Roller Saga
As of the January 21 board meeting of the McNary Golf Club, the purchase of not one but two high speed greens rollers was approved. Dave Bashaw the Superintendent of Course Maintenance, presented his findings to the board along with his endorsement of the project. He indicated overall product presented to the public will be better and other benefits of rolling should offset the time needed to roll.
The cost of the two units 10,495.00 of which the Golf Course covered 3,000.00 and the Mens Club Fund raising project covered the remainder.
Full details of the two units are contained in the side bar for report that was presented to the Mens Club Board on 1-4-2013.
The demo rolling that we did gave great results and proved that it will be a huge improvement to the course. Dave is committed to using the equipment in the winter when conditions allow and during the season as much as possible.
This is something that everyone in the Mens Club, who participated, can be hugely proud of, You all deserve a pat on the back and the thanks of all future golfers at McNary.
Using Computer Generated Score Cards
PLEASE NOTE: When recording scores on the cards simply fill in the TOTAL GROSS score only, DO NOT mess with Net scores we do not need them, enter totals for front and back and overall. Unless otherwise notified, the tournament scores will be automatically recorded to GHIN, and the ESC (Equitable Stroke Control) is also done automatically. DO NOT post these scores yourself.
The marker line on the card is there for you as the "Marker" to keep track of your own score for reference, it is not used for scoring in any way.
As a player check your score and addition carefully, signing an incorrect score card will lead to disqualification. Note also that you must hole out and record the number of strokes in a stroke play tournament, there is no such thing as "give me a seven" or "picking up" or a conceded “gimmie” putt.
If your tournament scores are not posted by Thursday following please contact admin@mcnarymensclub.com.
